Virtual Coffee Date

Friday: Hill Repeats 30 mins
Saturday: 7 mile run + 1 1/2 hours of CrossFit & Yoga
Sunday: Rest Day (2 mile walk with the dog)

It's Sunday, so you know what time it is! Grab your coffee and let's get cozy with a little conversation this morning.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that...
I've really appreciated exercising without a training plan lately. I just go out and run when I feel like it for whatever distance I feel like running and it's fantastic! I had a great start to winter with my running routines but the January-March months were a bit rocky. I'm excited that the sun is finally out and the weather is a bit nicer to enjoy longer runs each day.

I love cooking in my new kitchen! Oh my gosh. It's so nice to actually have space to cook! Crazy idea right?? Our apartment had little counter space so I feel extremely spoiled in our new kitchen. I'm also really hoping to amp up my recipes here on the SBMRunner. I love to cook and I really want to share some of my favorite quick and easy recipes with you.

This weekend I gave CrossFit a try. I have to tell you, when the coach told me that part of the circuit would be lifting 77 lbs while doing dead lifts, I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped. But you know what? I lifted 77 lbs! AND it wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would be (I think it was because of the larger, hollow bar they use for dead lifting). I CAN tell you that I am hurting e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.

It wasn't really the workout for me but I'm glad I tried it out. I can understand why people do it and become "addicted" to it. It's amazing to see what your body can actually do during these high intensity workouts in small spurts of time.

I have had one of those really wonderful weekends spent with some of my best friends and family. We had a family BBQ watching really old home movies, drinking margaritas and finishing the night around a fire making smores and laughing so hard that I was literally crying. I just really cherish moments like that. I'm thankful for this time in our life and am soaking up every moment.

How was your weekend?
What was your favorite moment?
Did you have a nice workout this weekend that you wanted to share?

  1. Sounds like a wonderful week!

We've had a nice weekend - baseball game, poolside showing of Frozen, little man had a sleepover with his grandparents, big extended family breakfast, and we are now on our way to an Easter egg hunt with friends. The weather is gorgeous and life is good.

I did a little 3.5 miler on Friday. I'm coming back from injury, so taking it nice and easy.

  2. I've loved working out/running while not following a plan too. I think that it was just what I needed!
