Mighty Picks

I love finding healthy products, sharing healthy recipes and habits with you. Here are my current obsessions of the week, my Mighty Picks if you will...

Food: Walnut, Apple, Feta and Cranberry Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette-- Um, yum. This is my go-to salad. I will sometimes substitute the feta cheese with a little Blue Cheese or Gorgonzola to add salty and richness components to the salad. I feel full and satisfied after eating this for a mid-day meal.

Drink: Tazo "Zen" Green Tea--I love tea. I don't typically care for the taste of green tea but I have officially found a green tea that I do enjoy! This Zen green tea has a hint of mint in it which makes it taste wonderful (and not so strong and "seaweed-like"). Green tea is full of antioxidants and is linked to  a long list of health benefits.

Product: Pro Compression Socks--I had some very sore calves this week. I love how compression socks feel like a giant hug on your legs and feet. Seriously, if it were socially appropriate, I would wear these things every where!

Workout: Speedy Lunch Time Runs-- I love the burst of energy I receive from speedy, mid day workouts. This is especially helpful when it's hard to roll out of bed in the morning. This way, I'm able to get additional sleep and a workout in!

Exercise: Burpees-- These things hurt like a MOTHER the next day. Doing like 3 burpees get my heart racing and my lungs working double time--and I like them why again?  I'm determined to keep these in my workout plan for cross-training days. I can see some killer muscles comin' out of this workout!

ACTION SHOT!

Power Song: The Hardest Ever-- Will.I.AM  This song has a great beat and really gets me pumped with lyrics like "You can go hard or you can go home." How can you not feel jacked up after hearing that?! :)

  1. I'll have to try the green tea you suggest because as you say, usually I steer away from green tea due to the "seaweed" taste. Also, do you have a diagram that shows how to do burpees?
Thanks Ashley! Love to be inspired by your blog!!!
